The Journey of Awaydays

Awaydays was started in 2012 by Brian Booth when he started taking his Faversham restaurant clients away on trips and it developed into a company specialising in day trips, theatre breaks and short stay holidays. In 2025, Awaydays was awarded a National Award, being voted Best London & South East Small Business Travel Agency

Rachel Holliday has worked as a tour manager with Awaydays since 2014 and in 2025 she has now taken on running the business as Brian takes a step back to enjoy retirement.  Rachel (as well as having the right name for a holiday company!) has been travelling all her life -  her father worked for an airline and therefore she has travelled the world from a young age.  She loves to travel anywhere but particularly likes Turkey and recently owned property there. Rachel has a background working in social housing and works part time delivering training to charities & housing organisations.

Louis has been involved with Awaydays for the past 10 years, escorting numerous groups around Europe.  He is fairly fluent in Italian, so his knowledge of the country, culture and language comes in handy for trips there.   He also speaks and understands Spanish well - having lived in Spain for 18 months, and a basic knowledge of French. Louis's earlier career as an urban designer-cum-architect's assistant gave him an innate curiosity and appreciation of what makes cities and buildings tick as well as an interest in discovering new places.  He has also worked - and continues to work - in the field of international education, which fuels his love of diverse peoples and cultures. He currently devotes half the year to living in Melbourne, Australia and the other half to living in Vicenza, Italy.

Faversham Greenmiles

Awaydays contributes 0.5% of the cost of each trip to Faversham Greenmiles.

The money goes towards paying for environmental / conservation projects in Faversham.

In the past, Awaydays has paid for many trees to be planted at Oare Gun Powder park.
